Travel Information


FLIGHTS

You will need to book your flights from your hometown to Smithers, British Columbia, Canada.  There are direct flights from Vancouver B.C. (YVR)  to Smithers, B.C. (YYD) via;
-Air Canada  www.aircanada.ca   
-Hawk Air  www.hawkair.ca

From Smithers you will be flying by float plane into and out of our camps, we book these flights for you and they are included in your trip price.

 

ACCOMMODATIONS

You will be staying at the Hudson Bay Lodge in Smithers B.C. We will make your room reservations for you for the night prior to your flight into camp, one night when flying out of camp and any additional nights if you are wanting. You can pay upon arrival at the hotel for your nights accommodations with them.

Once in our camps you will be lodging in one of our 8 cabin locations, wall tent, dome tent or bivi sack, all depending on the type of trip you have booked.

 

TRAVEL MEDICAL INSURANCE

Medical insurance is mandatory to have before coming on a trip with Claw Mountain Outfitters. Your medical insurance must cover you fully incase of an emergency; this must included air ambulance coverage also.

You can purchase your medical insurance through any company that you prefer, through Guide Outfitters of British Columbia (GOABC) we do recommend;

CANCELATION INSURANCE

Claw Mountain Outfitters does not refund for a canceled trip. Cancelation insurance is not mandatory but we do recommend it to each client incase your trip ends up needing to be canceled for some reason. Again we recommend;

THE TOWN OF SMITHERS

Smithers is a beautiful tourist town nestled amongst the mountains in Northern, British Columbia along the Yellowhead Trans Canada or “Highway 16”.  There are many neat things to see and do while you are here, if you would like to visit the town for a few extra days let us know and we will reserve your room longer for you. DRINKING WATER
Once in camp your drinking water is obtained from lakes, streams or rivers. If you are uncomfortable with this we do have a camp water purifier to bring along on trips if need be. Or if you are very concerned please feel free to bring along your personal water purifier device or tablets.
